Retail for 'Alessi' -- Stage 1 (2007)

Stage 1: Initial Encounter -- Entry

"Today, in our all consuming, all-pervading culture, when we purchase a product we are buying into the brand. The building, the logo, the advertising, the fashion model, even the shop assistants, in addition to the products themselves, all tie up this thing called 'image' or brand........."

'Alessi' is seem a dream factory supplies home and living products. It has perfected a way of mediating between the world of design and the market that allows them to create objects in which poety, creativity, culture, sincerity, comtemporaneity and design excellence all combine.

Design intent: The idea of the entry is the beginning of the hierarchy architecture. The overall shape creates by different size of the plates, which on the wall and under the floor. Especially these lighting square boxes under the floor like a journey symbol to lead customs to walk through in the 'maze' retail. They make people become more curious and desirous to discovery what will be happened inside of the 'maze' retail................

Retail Project for 'ICE BREAKER' (Stage 1)

'We are not talking about making a brand into a place but making a place into a brand. This is calls fora remarkable design quality......................'

Brand essence: 100% pure..............its about our relationship to nature and each other.

Design intent: The idea of second skin is used as the concept in our ice breaker retail store inspired by the nature of ice breaker's resources and products. Transformation from the pure merion to a protective layer on human body. Ice Breaker has always been driven by the idea of layering and comfort, which has deferred to the idea of second skin.

Cahill Center for Astrophysics, by Morphosis

"The building is the result of a series of forces that collide to produce unique spaces of discovery. Force lines track the movement of form and light through the building’s faceted façade, the central vertical volume, and the stitches. As one moves through the space, formal fragments coalesce to reconstruct the interactions among light, architectural elements, and bodies as physical traces of the institution’s new ideas."
